We decided to turn this into a horseshoe like last year. I left my car at Humber Park and got a lift from the rest of the hiking bro’s to the Marion trail-head. We were on the trail by 7:30am and did not remember it being this as hard last year during the first 1.5 miles. We were able rebound after that and all seemed ok. About 4 hours to the peak. Smoke visible to the north from the fire. Good break for lunch at the stone shelter. (put up another shirt for our buddy Greg..) Then down to Wellmen divide for some good views. Some concern for the thunder clouds forming and this being the highest humidly hike in CA I have ever been on.. Like the view going down Devil’s Side Trail and by far the most surprising part was Wellman Cienega was on display. Hugh Ferns and Cow lily’s and the way they mix on the hill side, just never seen it like that. Back at Humber park in 7hr 40min at Approx 13.5mi.
