We got an early start, and I’m very happy we did. Getting out of the car at 6am, it was already almost 70 degrees. We did the Manker-Baldy Bowl-summit-Devil’s Backbone-fire road route (clockwise) so we had a lot of nice shade most of the way up. It was hazy, so not great views from the summit, but the mountain and trail were beautiful. The trek down was a bit hot and by the time we got back to the car, it was very toasty.
