The weather was a bit overcast but then the sun came out the views were amazing the entire hike. Mosquitos were out and a bother for the first mile and half, this it cleared up recommend bug spray. Recommend long pants because the trail has portions with narrow path and bushes on either side I got a scratch as a result. Amazing hike not for those that have injuries or struggle to hike among rocky areas. This could be suitable for a child if they are strong and conditioned to hike. There is a moderate to strong incline in the beginning for the 2nd mile that continues most of the hike. There are signs to mark the right way the first is the trash can pointing to Espinosa. That will take to another open area with a sign to the right that has a C on it thats for corte madera, there will be another area and the next sign will have cm on it straight ahead. Then just keep going till hit the top. It is pretty much up most of the hike with bits of flat portions and areas with quite of bit of rocks. Similar to south Fortuna trail. Dogs are allowed, if they struggle with rocky area may not be comfortable for them. It was chilly at the top in early April, but sunny during the trail enough to wear a tank top and be warm. Please remember plenty of water, camera, snacks, and a light jacket for the top. This is an all around beautiful hike the views are breathtaking all around during the hike!!!
After reading multiple reviews I can confirm that the total mileage tracked by my garmin was 7 miles 3.5 to the top from the corte madera trailhead. Recommend to utilize the directions in the guide to get to the trail, or put in the corte madera trailhead into your GPS the corte madera mountain gps through Google took me to a ranch gate and it was about 25 mins driving from the actual trailhead.
Adventure pass is required to be displayed in the window, can use the American the beautiful pass.
