Hiked today with my Daughter and her BF…and a broken toe. Gate to the campground was closed with a sign saying opening at 8. Someone arrived about 8:05, so not a long wait. Perfect weather and sometimes a bit cold with the wind. Easy to find the trail head. Port-a-potty available. Few gnats along the way but not bothersome. Got to the look out then followed the pink ribbons on the trees to the boulders to the summit. My daughter scaled the boulders to the top as did her BF. My toe would not allow the climb, so I sat on the rocks and re-energized with some food. Saw a bobcat, rafter of turkey and a few squirrels. We were first to hit the trail and saw several groups going up as we were headed down. 4 hours total hike time. What others have said about the first two miles is pretty darn accurate. Overall a great hike!
