Boy oh boy, was this trail long. We started just after 6am, started and ended in cold weather, but actual hiking conditions were alright. Put on our clamps about 2/3rds of the way up the hike. The top was ambiguous, and it felt like forever until we finally came across the Washington monument. Even then, when we got over a hill and realized there was still another to go, we were a bit peeved. Snow made the trail disappear at that point so it ended up being a scramble to the top. One of our team members sunk into the snow up to his knees near the top and had to be pulled out. His hiking boot had to be pulled out as well! But we all made it.

The way down seemed endlessly long. When we still had 2 hours in the darkness to go, we were all definitely hitting a wall. Makes us extremely nervous for tackling Gorgonio, considering these hikes have been taking us double the estimated time, for some reason, but we'll see.
