Weather played a role in this hike, as a storm was rolling in as I approached the summit. Mountain Forecast hadn't indicated bad weather, but you just never know for sure in the mountains. It started mostly sunny, but as the day went on, dark clouds appeared in the distance and kept moving in. Made for some nice views and drama. I had planned to continue on to East Peak/Anderson, and maybe Shields, but with it starting to rain and looking really dark to the east from the summit, and moving my way, I decided it was best to save those for another day. It was kind of sad to see the burn scars, and imagine what it would have been like before the fire. However, with all the snowmelt and rain this year, you can see the beginning of the recovery. This seems not to be as popular as some of the other peaks in the area, so it was nice to have the trail to myself for most of the day.
