At beginning of trailhead a couple of large sinkholes to watch out for if starting before sunrise. The day was in the low to mid seventies perfect as this peak was named caliente for a reason. Definitely would not attempt in summer. Roads to get there once you leave pavement 1+hours of dirt are posted as impassable in wet weather. High clearance vehicle recommended, even better if front wheel in low gear or four wheel drive. No flowers yet, but see potential in a month. Lots of wildlife/animal tracks. Saw some elk on drive leaving in evening. All campsites are first come, for this presidents weekend they were full up by the time we retired to our tents. Advise to get there early if camping overnight for early morning start.
