Temperatures were reasonable and my legs felt good, so right before the top to Baden-Powell I took a right onto the PCT over to Throop peak, named, so it said on a plaque, after the founder of CalTech. Why did he get this mountain? Did ever camp here? We have no idea. But it is a nice peak for lunch. On the return to Baden-Powell I had to bag Burnham mountain as well, of course. The three peaks are on an east-west ridge, with the PCT more or less following the ridge, meaning that there is not too much eve Latino gain/loss on this section. Baden-Powell was the only place where I met friendly fellow hikers. On the way down it got warmer and warmer, as expected. A good day off the grid!
