We decided to hike up Cholla since it recently opened and neither had tried that path before. It was a steady incline with great views, some steps, and then the climbing began.
the little blue reflectors led the way for some areas where we weren’t sure the direction. When we arrived at the peak, we were greeted by Santa and Mrs Claus giving candy canes to the good boys and girls. I got coal! Just kidding.
For fun, we hiked down Echo Canyon and walked along the road for 2.9 miles back to the car.
Camelback is always a challenge with the rapid elevation gain but offers such a thrill and beautiful sights.
