#5 of our Challenge. Stayed in the quaint village of Stowe. Hike was delayed a day because of weather. Quite a ride to the Monroe Trailhead , early start with plenty of parking for a Saturday. Trail conditions were good  despite the rain on Friday. Curious to see the plane wing so we took the Alpine trail. Then up to the summit. No view, very fogged in. Several day hikers as well as a few thru hikers spread around the top. Talked with a couple who was thru hiking the northern half of the AT, had done the southern portion last year. Cool watching the clouds fly by while enjoying a good conversation and a snack. Headed down via the Monroe via the AT. Great hike with my bestest hiking partner.
