Absolutely beautiful and mellow state park.  Mid week mellow – absolutely perfect weather – short sleeve and shorts the whole time.  Trail is gorgeous – nice diversity in redwoods and then opening up as you see the amazing ridgeline.  Castle Crags perfectly appropriate name.  The summit is stunning – did NOT try to tackle the Dome.  Views back to Shasta awesome.  Do pay attention to the trail at the top is there is a maze of offshoots – I got off trail for a few monites coming back down before getting reoriented.  Did the off shoot to Indian Springs.  Really enjoyable and nice work out.

Included All Trails link below but somehow my Black Butte Hike and Castle Dome got conflated.  Photos are correct (Castle Dome) but distance and elevation are from Black Butte hike the day before.  Very weird – cant explain.
