El cajon mountain

At the beginning of the year I said to my self we will get the hardest hikes out of the way first and thus El cajon Was submitted 2 days after high point.

Roxy and I started our trekking at 6am on the drive there I had in my mind a video idea I knew exactly what I was going to record, all I needed to do was be high in altitude at the sunrise. Too bad we didn't make it lol but the video was still done lol. Anyways we started at 6 and just like I remember the beginning prepares you for what comes next.

You hit some switchbacks fun really but I had a mission to get a sunrise pretty deep in. We managed to hike 2.5 miles before sunrise happen. I got some cool footage and keept going. Before mile 3 and or 3.5 there's two routes one really rocky the other really steep, I decided to take left on the steep incline, it isn't bad but it's steep real steep in the back of your mind you're thinking “God I have to do this again on the way back” we rested at the stop sign got some water and then we continued. Mile 3.5 there's some caves which I said I'll check them out on the way back.

We keep pushing, the thing about this hike is that you go up and down up and down and you have to do the same on the way back which is why this hike its hard. This hike is the only hike I have picked up my dog and carry her, but that's on the way back. We submitted around 9.20am we took our time this time. I had the summit all to myself again, this is the amazing thing about hiking during the week. Summits all to yourself.

I got all the footage I needed rested a bit gave Roxy some snacks and headed back. Now remember those mines? Yeah well we didn't explore I wasn't feeling it lol anyways I'll be back to explore them. All and all this hike kicks my butt everytime.
