Started really early to avoid the heat and the crowds. Did neither ????. The short hike to potato chip rock from Hwy 67 wasn’t very crowded, only passed a hand full of groups. There wasn’t even a line or anyone on the rock! But as I went back down toward Poway Lake there was a steady stream of people starting to come up. By the time I got around the lake and back up to the rock it was packed. The walk back down to 67 was really busy too. It’s always a nice hike but between the heat and the people I was very happy to finish.
