Wir leiben die kleinen Stadt am Julian.
From November until spring, my better half and I camp in the desert every other weekend, or so we try. Julian is a ritual on our way back. We love to stop at miners diner or at mom‘s pie, the town itself even if we don’t buy anything is always a breath of fresh air and we love to spend some time there when we can afford it.
As much as we love spending our time in Julian proper or Winola climbing Vulcan which is a short drive from Winola proper is a fantastic experience for anyone who loves the mountains and lives in this area.

The climb itself has a rugged one and a half mile climb that’s relatively steep. It will open up after a beautiful old oak arches over the trail itself creating its own natural amphitheater. Once you start crossing the very open beautiful meadow and start incline again you’re getting near to the top but the views only get better with more and more meadoss.
when we climb this particular peak in early spring it was covered in blooming wildflowers poppies of every different variety.
I would love to do this again and I am sure while we reside in Southern California we certainly will. If you are wondering why there’s a lack of pain injury or embarrassment during this climb I won’t say it’s because for the first time my lady and I climbed without her mother but I’m also not saying it’s not related.…
also just for the record I’m 100% kidding. I love your baking!
