Got it done. It's got its challenges, but I wish I could have hiked my bike for the ascent, just to change it up. Or, if I had time for doing a different offshoot trail, but alas, not this time.
Highlight of this year: naked elderly man hiker! Wearing only sunglasses and hiking boots, carrying a red backpack which he used to cover himself as we passed, he mentioned something I didn't quite catch, and I just kept going past him and said “all good”. Seemed like he could have stood to re-apply sunscreen many more times than he did. Hope his burns heal well!
