An unexpected vertical wall climb indeed at 1400 ft gain in the last 0.7 mi to the peak.

There are wildflowers most of the trail and 2 water crossings. Before the 1400 ft ascent, there’s a tree on the left side with a can that says “Welcome. Are you here to make shit happen” lol 😅 Seems like a resting area for weary and tired hikers either to rest after the hard climb or gather more energy before the hard climb. Clever & funny- we thought 🤣🤣

We hiked it in the afternoon after a 4.5 Hour drive and started around 2+ pm and it was hot. Not much coastal breeze. Bring lots of water and sun protection. The vertical wall climb was unexpected for us. Don’t underestimate it just basing from AllTrails stats.

Beautiful view at the peak. There’s a pole at the top and peak has some bushes and a few trees.
