I started this hike midmorning. Even before I could start the hike, there were people who were already returning to the trailhead – probably they had an alpine start or had stayed at the campground the previous night. The weather was good. A bit chilly. The trail going up the fire road did not have any snow but there was snow on the fire road. Although I brought microspikes I didn't need to use them. The snow increased the more I got to the summit but at no time was spikes ever needed – the snow was not enough to white out the fire road. There were people out in their vehicles this day. I got to the summit took photos, had lunch and took some more photos before heading down. It was sunset by the time I got down from the mountain but I didn't need to use my headlight. I got back to my car and it was already dark when I drove out. As this was my sixth peak for this challenge, I closed it out on a High Point.
