What a way to end! An absolute gorgeous day (cold but sunny, though windy at the summit). Lots of snow, but mostly packed and easy to traverse with the aid of microspikes. With this much snow, we chose to do the 5 mile route instead of the 9, and that was the good choice, as snow can be so tiring, and we finished in a fine mood and still some energy (I'm sure we wouldn't have with the longer route). Thank you, Tahoe organizers, for extending the timeline, so we could fit this one in and complete!
