My friend and I started at 7am. There was enough parking near the trailhead, but it was still a bit busy. The day itself was cloudy and cool, ideal conditions for hiking. We made good time getting up, but made a wrong turn close to the top (we took the Mt Wilson toll road and didn't even see the trail!). We'd gone for about a mile up the road when we realized we weren't going the right way, which added 2 miles to the hike that should've been 13 miles. We made it to the pavilion (with bathrooms and water refill) at 1pm, took a leisurely lunch, and started our descent around 2pm. Going down was difficult for us due to fatigue and we didn't make it back to the car until 7pm. We still enjoyed our hike and had a good day!
