Headed out at about 0930 on a Friday morning. My truck was only vehicle at parking area.
A couple of distance notes:
– Trash can marker is at about .5 miles.
– Trail split is at 1.5 miles. At this point, Coerte Madera is not on big trail sign. CM is carved into a piece of wood at the start of the trail to the right. You will find one more small CM carved sign further up the road. Then, it becomes a single trail.
From there, there are a few split offs, but they always seem to merge back. Having the GPX file on my Garmin gave me reassurance that I wasn't going off course.
About two miles in, it gets steep. You will see a thin trail and rocks high above. Path goes straight up that hill.
Lots of great views.
At summit, I took a break and had a sandwich. Then I started the trip down and passed three couples on their way up.
7.27 miles and 1787 feet ascent logged on my Garmin 64ST.
