Started at Stinson Beach up the Matt Davis Trail. It was a cool morning at the beach, but it quickly warmed up as we went through the switchbacks. The steep start of this trail was challenging after a month hiatus. Pantoll Station, near the halfway point to the summit, is a useful break to use facilities, stretch, and rest. As we got near Mountain Theater, we heard music from but didn’t actually see the show. Finally, the trail leads to a road that circles the summit, then a rocky trail to the summit itself.
On the way down, we doubled back on Matt Davis trail at Pantoll because Steep Ravine Trail (the best one on Mt. Tam) was closed to Dipsea.
