This hike hit all the right notes straight from the start. It starts in a canyon that winds its way up an ATV road with some grand views. Then it skips over to bounce up and over a few false peaks before a dramatic entrance to the summit. This view blew me away. While this hike was challenging, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. Nary a single curse word! It could be that the cooler than normal temps played a part, or the fact I could be in better hiking shape compared to this time last year, or maybe it's perspective that I will never sweat and pant as much as I had climbing to Hamilton Lakes. Whatever the reason, this is probably my favorite day hike I have done yet.
