First time hiking this trail. This was a great little jaunt. It starts with some shade in an oak covered riparian area. The middle of the hike has little shade with scrub and manzanita. The end of the hike provides some shade with pine trees and ends with more manzanita and boulders. We saw rabbits, quail and a large turkey on the drive in. The road to the trail is fine. Mostly paves, one dirt/gravel section that was a little bumpy. There was some water on the trail and some bugs, but not that biting type. The views are amazing. There was one part of the hike that required a little scrambling, but it wasn’t a big deal. Great little hike. I will be back. We only saw one group of hikers the whole time. The trail head can accommodate 9 vehicles if you back into the spots instead of parking parallel.
