Easy 58 mile drive from Rancho Bernardo to trailhead, temperature mild to warm and totally clear. Picturesque hike through pines with great views of “San Diego's Half Dome” when you reach the saddle. Trail narrows towards the top, through boulders. Watch your step, as we came upon a rattlesnake within 10 inches of where we were stepping…he was not too upset, so we walked on by. Great views at the top with surrounding vistas of Cuyamaca and the Laguna mountains. Ended with a wonderful lunch at Burning Beard Brewing.
