We started this hike early in the morning at 6:30am. This was good because this allowed us to deal with cool weather on the way up to the saddle. We especially appreciated this on the switchbacks. Once we got to the saddle, we took a quick snack break and enjoyed the nice breeze coming in through in the clearing. We then made our way up to Cucamonga Peak. There was quite a bit of rock scrambles and patches of snow to cross but nothing technical. We eventually made it to the summit and took pictures with the sign on the overhanging rock. It was nice and breezy at the top but the heat was beginning to pick up. After eating a few snacks, we made our way down and took a break at the saddle before getting back to the trailhead.
