This would have been an easy hike if there was no snow. There were a lot of switchbacks but the trees had markers to help navigate. The first half was easy, however, the second half was all covered in snow, making it difficult to navigate and easy to go off trail. Since we couldn’t see the trail, we decided to cut through the switchbacks and scrambled our way straight to the top. Microspikes and hiking poles were helpful. Beautiful trail throughout with lots of tall trees and bird singing. The last part to the summit was steep but not too bad since it was short. The view from the summit was awesome. Saw the Wally Waldron tree and the monument to Lord Baden Powell which was pretty cool. There was a flag pole but no flag. Snow was icy in the morning and slushy and slippery on the way back.
