A very fine line between bravery and insanity some would say but I think this was the best and toughest hike of 2018. I love hiking in the snow and we were the first group up after the snow storm. We literally had to make our own trail. The snow so cold and fresh was great. It was still cloudy and by 4 pm we experienced a blizzard upon reaching the ice house saddle coming down. My first time with crampons was painful, cramps and knee giving out doesn't help but the pain was worth it. I plan on hiking again in the snow but I think only up to the ice house just to keep it safe.
