This peak had the best views from the peak of all the SoCal peaks we've hiked so far. From the summit, any direction you turn is a beautiful view. It was pretty windy in some sections of the trail as well as at the summit, so bring a windbreaker. Pants are a good idea too as there are sections where the bush is overgrown and it's all but impossible not for your legs to brush up against hard, spiky bush. I was pretty surprised with the number of people we ran into at the summit. It got pretty crowded. I suspect most people are starting from the Palm Springs tram, because the crowd thinned out as we started back down the Marion Mt trail.
Overall, a really nice hike that I wouldn't mind doing again someday.
