Left Icehouse Canyon at 7:50am. The fog was pretty high today. The trail was covered in fog for the first 1.8 miles. Once I entered the wilderness area the fog lifted and the sky was a beautiful blue. From there it was sunny, cool, and very little wind. Had to cross a handful of snow patches but none were longer than 30 feet and all had plenty of foot prints covered in sand for grip. I had spikes but never even considered putting them on. There's a fork near the summit and the trail post is missing any signs. Make sure to fork right or you'll add some extra mileage. Quite a few people out for a Monday but parking was easy. Wonderful start to my week!
