Beautiful hiking day for Cucamonga & Etiwanda 2 peaks challenge.  Started at 4:30 am, and finally reached Cucamonga around 10:30 am.  Starting that early in the morning was a bit unnerving, as my headlamp lit up a pair of eyes in the underbrush near the trail, and the bulky-looking creature was definitely larger than the giant raccoons in my neighborhood.  🙀😆  When things heated up after Noon, there were plenty of steady, intermittent breezes to add relief to the heat, and keep me going.  Bring your bug net and spray – the black flies are agressive biters, and the mosquitoes will try their best to drill through your hiking pants.  Cucamonga Peak Trail was a work-your-glutes-and-quads uphill challenge.  Etiwanda peak was an easy peasy, lovely side trip through the forest.  Had a good time chatting with a bunch of fellow 6 peak challengers and Cucamonga overnighters I met on the trail.
