We got really lucky and the day was overcast making the hit feel not quite as grueling as we were expecting.

4:30a start meant we were able to beat the heat. Unfortunately, because it was overcast, we also didn’t get to experience the beautiful sunrise that we planned for but I’d trade that any day of it means avoiding the high heat.

Few people on the trail that day m, which also came as a surprise. We encountered some lovely hikers at the top who were giving away whistles and blankets in case of emergency on future hikes. For thoughtful and we had a good time connecting with them and taking photos.

Someone stole the sign for the peak but luckily someone had brought one that they made and let us use it for our photos.

Foliage was beautiful as was the river and lots of cute little chipmunks running around. Beautiful hike and would def go back 🙂
