Another gorgeous hike! I loved Ice House Saddle with all the switchbacks through the trees. Make friends with the stranger near you as you jockey back and forth for the lead up the mountain. 🙂 Bring a copy of your permit to continue on past that summit. There was a ranger checking for permits at the start of Cucamonga’s Trail. He warned us of many rescues on this trail and reminded us to watch our footing. That freaked us out well enough to be extra cautious. There are a loot of loose rocks on the trail for a bit at the beginning, but then it’s smooth sailing after that. The peak and views are gorgeous! Lots of room up top to spread out and relax for a bit. There was a short line to get our top of the rock pictures, and I think we may have had the photographer on the wrong side. Ours didn’t really look like a rock on the edge of a cliff. Lol! I’ll have to go back and try that again. We came across a decent amount of overnight campers hiking up as we were descending. That would be fun to do sometime! We also found a fuzzy tarantula in the trail near the bottom. They’re harmless so we made sure it crossed the path safely and didn’t get stepped on.  All around wonderful hike!
