Cucamonga Peak! Peak #2. Six peak challenge
Not for the weak. The hike up to icehouse canyon was lovely! Once we hit the saddle, the wind kicked up and the trail was covered in snow. We had to put on micro spikes and trek on. The 2.4 miles to the peak would prove to be much more difficult than we ever would think. There were times we wanted to give up. Hiking in the snow, ice, slush and cold wind isn’t easy. We were losing traction, thank gosh I always bring my trekking poles. Each one of us used one to hold our place as we scaled up to the peak. There was no trail. Too much snow. Sometimes we went straight up a 60 degree mountain angle, sometimes we zigzagged. We both wanted to give up on that climb. We didn’t. We went 10-20 ft at a time. It was well worth it.
We made it!!!
