Started off today’s hike around 6am with perfect hiking weather conditions. It was a Thursday so the parking was mostly empty early morning and I hike out of Icehouse Canyon without being exposed to the sun or seeing any other hikers. Once you are out of the canyon and passing the saddle you will become exposed to the sun for pretty much the rest of the trip with small breaks here and there. Was passed by 1 trail runner on the ascent but that was all I saw until after I reached the summit. There are a few trail crossings that can be confusing so ensure you have maps previously downloaded because I also had no service for the hike. Coming down I passed several groups of people on the narrow trails. Advice is definitely to start as early as you can. The view at the summit is beautiful. The hike down did beat up my knees a bit but overall the trail is very well maintained and designed well with switchbacks with average elevation gains. Definitely will hike this again.
