This is a beautiful hike. Awesome views and a spectacular summit. I hiked with my son Griffin. We arrived at 6:30 am on Monday and there were already a few cars in the lot. There were no wilderness permits in the box you can fill out. The bathrooms are open but bring your own TP. It was 45 degrees, colder than expected, cloudy. We made good time to the icehouse saddle. It was windy and cold. We rested a bit but the cold got us moving after a short rest. As we started the push up, I missed a switchback turn and got myself off trail. I got myself back on track but it cost me 45 minutes and a lot of energy. We still made it up at 10:55 am. It was beautiful up at the top, amazing views. After pics, food and rest we started down. The trail was really rocky. Tough on my knees. I was trying to move quickly down and rolled my ankle. So I had to slow my pace a bit. We still got down by 2:30. Lots of people on the trail.
