Great hike. Started off right around 6:45 am in crisp, mid 30’s temps. Things warmed up as the ascent progressed, until I hit the saddle. Harsh cold winds from there up every north face exposure to the Peak was the new order of the day. Wish I would have brought crampons, but despite the frozen snow the trail was still navigable with poles. Weather started rolling in early afternoon, so I abandoned the thoughts of including Ontario and Bighorn Peaks and headed back to the saddle, and then the trailhead. All told, it was a 9 hour day over 14 miles. Great day in the outdoor office!
