Bugs were terrible!  Highly recommend bug spray and sun screen.  We started early to try to beat the heat but it still got very hot.  Besides the heat and bugs the trail was absolutely beautiful. Tons of blooming wild flowers, lush ferns, lovely streams with cute little foot bridges.  On Conejo trail it gets steep and rocky but very beautiful.  Trail was a little overgrown and got a few branches to the face. Then you find your way to a beautiful alpine forest just before the summit. On the return trip we took the fire road all the way down.  It was a little further doing the Azalea Loop trail rather than going straight up the fire road but it was so worth it.  The fire road has almost no shade and not very picturesque.  This was #6 for SD peaks!!! So happy to finish!! SO Cal is next!!!
