Hike Log

Cuyamaca – a muddy, wet, and cold hike, yet beautiful!

Trailhead:

Azalea Glen

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Minor obstacles posing few problems

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No Bugs

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

The trail conditions were difficult with lots of mud and flowing water (picture walking up lots of rocky waterfalls). The three of us seemed to be the only ones on the trail as we didn't see anyone past the Azalea Glen loop going up or down. It was quiet and beautiful, but was a very difficult hike through the mud and water. Bring extra socks and shoes if you attempt.
