I did this hike on the same day as Volcan Mtn since they were only 20min apart.  This trail was all asphalt which was different.  Although short in distance, this trail is no joke.  It's a consistent incline with very few flat spots so there's not much time to rest.  I started early to beat the heat so this wasn't a factor. Glad I did otherwise I would have been exhausted heading up.   I came across no other hiker on this trail which was a bit of a surprise since it starts at a campground.  Good views at the top but the radio towers were a bummer.
