Navigate to campsite was easy, nice drive.  Parking is $10.  Ranger was nice and informative.  Not a lot of shade to park, but restrooms were clean and common seating for setup or waiting for others was excellent and shaded.  There is a common water source if needed in park.  Trail heads easy to find, some hiking gets dusty quick with parts of the trail in deeper washed out areas.  Lots of old burnt trees.  Use your imagination and enjoy the sculptures.  Lots of green emerging — a rebirth!  Loop takes you to the fire lookout road which is steep but easy hiking.  There is some shade higher on the trail, but can be hot.   Drink water early and then enjoy views and breeze at the top.

We decided to do Stonewall Peak also, since the trail head is just across the street from the campsite.  The top has great 360 views and great air conditioning even if it’s a hot day.
