5 Down! One more to go!

A friend and I started around 8:15-8:30 AM and enjoyed almost perfect weather (slight breeze, sunny and clear) during the hike, especially on the way up. We decided to take the Azalea Glen Loop Trail up and the fire road down rather than going up and down the fire road. On the way up, the pines and oaks provided just the right amount of shade. For parts of the trail up, there was a little stream coming down the middle of the trail, but with boots on, that wasn't a problem at all. Once at the peak, we took a snack break on top of a boulder and enjoyed the amazing panoramic view at the top. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find a sign at the peak.

We finished in less than 3 hours, and while the elevation and length aren't nearly as rough as El Cajon, I found Cuyamaca slightly more difficult. (I think this is due to pushing myself a little too much in my exercise routine leading up to the hike.) Regardless, Cuyamaca Peak is probably the prettiest and most rewarding hike and peak I've done with the Six-Pack Challenge so far.
