I decided to take a “sick day” because I had a yearning for some hiking. Cuyamaca is one of my areas, and for some reason this was my first time doing this hike. I decided to do the Fire service road to the top and it is a very manageable hike. I was disappointed to get about halfway up and become engulfed in clouds. I guess that’s what you get for hiking in 40 degree weather in December! I couldn’t see anything at the top, but enjoyed being surrounded by trees with a little ice. I hope to do this one again so I can take advantage of those views.
