My group and I took the Lookout Fire Road, which is a paved road, both ways. The road is all incline going up and downhill on the way back. We started around 6:20 A.M. and finished at 8:25 P.M. so we didn’t feel the heat until towards the end of our hike. Sadly, there was no wooden signage that we’ve reached the Cuyamaca Peak when we reached the summit.
Note: There is a parking fee if you start at the Paso Picacho Campground.
