Started at Paso Picacho campground at about 6:45am. Went counterclockwise up the Azalea loop. The trail was snow covered for most of the hike. It was cold, so the areas of no snow the trail was frozen so no mud. Going up there was some snow melt flowing down the trail and ice buildup on some of the rocks, so it was a little tricky to navigate. Definitely lots of ice in spots and slippery at times. I didn't have microspikes, but could have probably used them, I did have poles. I managed to make it the whole way without falling. Beautiful view from the top, but was very windy and cold. On my way down I went out towards Japacha Peak and back, not much to see there.
