A bit of a brutal hike today! Lots of downed trees blocking the trail and a couple miles were basically walking up a river – there was a not-insignificant amount of water rushing straight down the trail. Big patches of 1-1.5′ deep snow close to the summit. Poles and extra socks are a must for this one! Amazing views from the summit – we got there just as the clouds were starting to roll in below us. 10 minutes later everything was totally white up there. Took the fire road trail on the way down. Not the most scenic, but at least it was quick. Hiking in soaking wet socks and pants isn't the most pleasant so I was excited to be done!
