I hiked from the Paso Picacho campground and went up the Azalea Glen loop trail to the Azalea Springs Fire Road, and finally the Lookout Fire road to the peak. The Azalea Glen Trail is beautiful. I was the only one on it. It follows a small creek for much of the way. As I walked up I have never seen so may butterflies. There were also many bird, lizards and ground squirrels There was a small crew using chainsaws to maintain trails. I could hear them in the distance and saw them briefly from about a half mile away. It was great weather, cool, and slightly breezy. At the summit I saw a woman eating her lynch we talked about hiking Mt. Whitney. I did it in 2020 and she was preparing for next week. The only other hiker I saw all day. Great hike.
