I started this hike by parking at Paso Picacho Campground. I arrived at 9am. The sun was shining and the temperature was in the mid 50s. I wandered around the campgrounds a bit before finding my way to the fire road. Head south from the parking lot and pass the area which says “authorized vehicles only” to find the gate.

The entire hike is on a paved road. It's a 2.6 mile trek to the peak. The incline is moderate overall, with some areas that I that would consider a little more challenging. There was a good amount of snow on the sides of the road. As I climbed higher and got deeper into the forest, I was in awe of the beauty that surrounded me.

For a majority of my time, I was by myself. This was welcomed as my goal for today was to get out and clear my head with fresh air. There is something truly healing about being in nature. As I reached the top, I found a lot more people. I looked everywhere, but never found the cool sign I'd seen in other posts. Bummer. I took my time exploring the top and just enjoying the views. I was back at the parking lot in 2 hours time. 4 peaks down, 2 to go!
