Had perfect weather for hiking, 65 degrees and windy. Actually felt cold at times.
The trail was beautiful with twists and turns. Some fallen logs to go over and under. A stream running along side. Delightful smelling pine forest sections.
I took the Azalea Loop trail from the parking area and stayed on that all the way up to Conejo Trail (didn't see any Easter Bunnies though). Then it met up with Lookout Fire Road.
That's when the asphalt road started that goes straight up to the peak. It is steep but manageable on the way up. On the way down, on the other hand, it is unbearable on the knees. If I wasn't pressed for time it would have been better to take the same trails I came up on.
The summit was WINDY!!!!! Almost blew me over, but what a view.
