Early Sunday morning hike, access to the parking lot was very easy with self serve credit card payment for the day use fee.   Plenty of spaces and the cleanest bathrooms I have EVER seen at any trailhead or park.  Saw a deer near the parking lot which was a great way to start the hike!  Relatively flat to mile 1.3 then slight incline, at the branch off the fire road around mile 2.2 trail got narrower and I glad I opted for convertible pants instead of just shorts.  The bugs set in around mile 3 and followed all the way up to the summit, I had to use my neck gaiter as a makeshift bug net.  Views at the top are amazing and I had a clear morning sky.  Full sun exposure on the descent via the fire road so I’m happy I had my sun hoodie on.  Overall a great moderately challenging hike and very easy to reach and follow the trail.
