Having done Cuyamaca earlier in the day and because it was still mid-afternoon, I decided to tackle Volcan. Unlike my fast pace at Cuyamaca I found myself slow at Volcan. I expended a lot of energy at Cuyamaca that when I did Volcan, despite Volcan being an easier route, I went slow. Still I managed to reach the summit and get back before dark.
